PARTI Harapan Rakyat Sabah president Liew Yun Fah has called on all quarters to stop slandering Kukusan assemblyman Rina Jainal, who purportedly received a reward for defecting to the party.
Liew said Rina, who quit Warisan, did not receive any gratification from any party.
“For me, Rina is a brave person to join my party, which is a small party led by a Chinese leader. I reminded her she would face slanders,” he said at a media conference with Rina in Tawau today.
He said Rina should be given the opportunity to prove to the people that she is hardworking and cares for the constituents of Kukusan.
“Give her three months. If Rina is all talk and no work, then she deserves to be reprimanded that she joined our party for rewards,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rina said she was ready to face accusations and resistance after deciding to switch to a small local party.
“I am aware that I am a newcomer to politics and Warisan was my initial struggle. Now, I will continue that struggle with this new party. I am fighting for a Sabah for Sabah folk,” she said.
Rina said she switched to a new and smaller party as it would make it easier for her to help the people.
She added after this, many programmes that had been planned before for the Kukusan area would be continued from time to time. – Bernama, June 7, 2022.
