RUSSIAN major general Roman Kutuzov was killed in fighting in eastern Ukraine, reported local media yesterday.
Kutuzov died during a battle in the village of Nikolaevka in the region of Luhansk, according to a Telegram post by Russian state television correspondent Alexander Sladkov, as reported by Anadolu Agency.
The Military Informant Telegram channel later confirmed the death.
The United Nations said at least 4,180 civilians have been killed and 5,010 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion, with the true toll believed to be much higher.
More than 6.9 million people have fled to other countries, while more than 7.7 million have been internally displaced, it added. – Bernama, June 6, 2022.
