AMERICAN musician Alec John Such, the founding member and bassist of Bon Jovi, has died at the age of 70.

“We are heartbroken to hear the news of the passing of our dear friend Alec John Such. He was an original,” said the band in a statement on social media yesterday, as quoted by Sputnik.

It added that as “a founding member, he was integral to the formation of the band”.

Such was the New Jersey rock band’s bassist from 1983 to 1994.
