MALAYSIA reported 1,358 new Covid-19 infections yesterday, taking the total number of active cases in the country to 21,232.
Covid-19 has infected 4,514,989 people in Malaysia since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The CovidNow website showed two new virus-linked deaths, one of which was dead on arrival.
The deaths took place in Selangor and Sarawak.
The death toll stood at 35,688.
Selangor logged the highest number of infections with 569, followed by Kuala Lumpur (264) and Penang (105).
Perak reported 90 cases, Negri Sembilan (81), Johor (61), Sabah (45), Malacca (31), Kedah (29), Putrajaya (24). Sarawak (22), Pahang (17), Kelantan (9), Perlis (5), Terengganu (5) and Labuan (1).
There were 904 coronavirus patients in hospitals, 14 of them in intensive care. Twelve were intubated. – June 5, 2022.
