POLICE today arrested the boyfriend of a woman whose charred remains were found on the riverbank of Sungai Kuala Kangsar in Perak on Tuesday.
Perak police chief Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the 20-year-old man is taken into custody to assist in investigation after his statement was recorded on Wednesday.
“He has been remanded for seven days from today to assist in investigation.”
A post-mortem report revealed that the 21-year-old woman’s cause of death is a blow to the head. Her burnt body was discovered by a passer-by, who then alerted police.
The victim’s 19-year-old brother earlier lodged a report on her disappearance.
Police also found a block of concrete with traces of blood near the body, believed to be the murder weapon. – Bernama, June 4, 2022.
