MALAYSIA reported 1,844 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, slightly more compared to 1,877 cases a day earlier.

The CovidNow website showed the country has logged 4,512,040 cases since the start of the pandemic in 2020.

Selangor posted the highest number of infections yesterday with 813 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (375) and Perak (129).

Negri Sembilan logged 112 new cases, Penang (111) Johor (39), Sarawak (28), Malacca (65), Putrajaya (26), Kedah (44), Pahang (19), Sabah (51), Terengganu (13), Kelantan (14) and Perlis (5).

The Health Ministry also reported one Covid-19 death yesterday, in Sarawak, taking the death toll to 35,680. 

The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units (ICU) stood at 27, of which 17 were in need of respiratory support. – June 4, 2022.
