POLICE yesterday arrested an influencer to assist in investigations concerning a dance show that featured scantily dressed male cross-dressers and a fireworks show in I-City, Shah Alam, Selangor, last Friday.

Shah Alam police chief Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said Cik Lala, the event organiser, has been detained and remanded until tomorrow after videos of the event were uploaded on TikTok.

Initial investigations revealed that the incident occurred from 8pm to 11.30pm at Central Walk I-City on May 27.

“The I-Soho I-City management lodged the report the next day, after receiving a WhatsApp message about a half-naked dance that tarnishes I-City’s image as a tourist attraction in Selangor,” said Iqbal.

“The event was accompanied by loud music and a fireworks show in a public area near residential units.

“Cik Lala rented the unit for RM4,000 for a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, which had about 50 guests.”

The social media figure will be investigated under section 509 of the penal code, section 6 of the Explosives Act 1957 and section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. – Bernama, May 30, 2022.
