A MAN police believe was involved in drug trafficking died in an apparent murder, having fallen from an apartment in Jalan Masai Jaya 2, Johor Baru, yesterday.

Johor police chief Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the dead man, 23, was found on the ground outside a unit on level two at 12.45am.

According to Kamarul, a fight was believed to have broken out on the second floor of the building between the victim and three other gang members ages between 20 and 30.

“Police received information from the public that the victim fell from the second floor balcony and died.

“They were partners of a drug gang and one of them probably did not pay up his drug debt, which led to the fight,” he told a media conference today.

He said a forensic unit investigation found signs of a struggle, which preceded the victim’s fall.

Kamarul said police would be looking into whether the man was pushed.

Following investigations, three individuals were picked up on the same day in Desa Jaya.

He said the three have previous drugs convictions, were remanded for seven days from today and they would be investigated under the penal code for murder. – Bernama, May 30, 2022.
