Almost 33% of children in Malaysia fully vaccinated against Covid

A TOTAL of 1.17 million children aged five to 11, or 32.9% of the child population in the country have completed their vaccination under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children as of yesterday.

According to the CovidNow portal, a total of 1.71 million children or 48.3% of the group have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

For adolescents aged 12 to 17, a total of 2.91 million individuals or 93.6% have completed the vaccination while 3.01 million or 96.7% of the group have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

At the same time, a total of 16.1 million individuals or 68.4% of the adult population have received the booster dose, 22.97 million individuals or 97.6% have completed two doses and 23.25 million individuals or 98.8% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

A total of 10,883 vaccine doses were dispensed yesterday, with 5,172 of them as first dose, 4,709 second doses and 1,002 booster doses.

This brings the cumulative number of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 70.91 million. – Bernama, May 30, 2022.
