FORMER PKR vice-president Tian Chua lost to Batu MP P. Prabakaran in their fight for the Batu PKR chief post in the party polls.

Unofficial results revealed that Chua won 306 votes, while Prabakaran, who made his debut in the party polls this year, won 517 votes.

Chua previously announced that he will not defend his vice presidency and wanted to run only for division chief.

Celebrity Afdlin Shauki Aksan failed in his bid to become Setiawangsa chief.

He lost to incumbent Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, who is also Setiawangsa MP.

Afdlin garnered 372 votes, while Nik Nazmi garnered 482 votes.

The former met with the same fate as his peers Altimet and Hans Isaac, who failed to become the Ampang PKR chief.

The PKR polls ended yesterday, following re-polls in 12 divisions in Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Selangor and Sabah.

The official results will be announced at the PKR Congress on June 25 and 26. – Bernama, May 29, 2022.
