A GIRL who was reported missing on Friday evening during her family’s Aidilfitri open house in a raft house in Bukit Rangin, Kuantan, was found drowned today.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ismail Abdul Ghani said the body of Siti Nur Athhiyya Soffea Mohamad Sukri, 3, was found fully clothed about 1.5km from the raft house.

“The search and rescue operation to locate the victim covered 3km from the scene before the victim’s body was found at 11.35am by the firefighters. The victim’s body was then handed over to the police for further action,” he said in a statement today.

The girl, wearing a red baju kurung, was last seen by his father at 11.15pm on the day reported missing. 

A search was launched which took into account the possibility the child had fallen from one of two raft houses connected by a wooden bridge. – Bernama, May 29, 2022.
