New Covid cases rise to 2,430

MALAYSIA logged 2,430 new Covid-19 infections yesterday, up from 1,918 from the day before.

The CovidNow website showed there were six virus-linked deaths, taking the death toll to 35,653.

The total number of infections stood at 4,497,212, of which 25,172 were active cases.

Selangor logged the highest number of infections with 1,272, followed by Kuala Lumpur (366) and Penang (119.

Negri Sembilan reported 114 infections, Perak (117), Malacca (99), Johor (72), Kedah (69), Sabah (66), Sarawak (49), Putrajaya (38), Pahang (20), Terengganu (14), Kelantan (8), Labuan (6) and Perlis (1), 

The GitHub database showed three of yesterday’s deaths were reported in Johor and one death each in Sabah, Sarawak and Putrajaya.

There are 1,076 people in hospital, 13 of them in intensive care and 18 on ventilators. – May 26, 2022.
