AN online petition to revoke Tajuddin Abdul Rahman’s appointment as Indonesia ambassador has received 13,571 signatures as of 8.18am today.

It was published by a group called Bangsa Malaysia yesterday, and is addressed to Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

The petition is seeking 15,000 signatures.

“Has Malaysia lost its mind? Don’t think the people have forgotten who Tajuddin is,” read the petition.

It cited Tajuddin’s mishandling of the LRT collision last year.

The then Prasarana chairman was fired by the Finance Ministry following his insensitive remarks in the aftermath of the collision, which saw hundreds of passengers injured.

“His press conference following the crash is enough to show that he is an arrogant, bad and stupid person who is unqualified for anything, let alone as ambassador to Indonesia,” read the petition.

“He is qualified only for the role of ‘embarrassador’ and not ambassador.

“Malaysia has been embarrassed enough. We, as the people, must rise up to look after the good name of the country. #RakyatJagaRakyat.”

Of the more than 13,000 signatories, most had choice words about the appointment, pointing out Tajuddin’s lack of experience and past transgressions.

Stephen Francis commented: “Send a donkey instead. A donkey is smarter and better-looking than that idiot Tajuddin.”

“He is a disgrace and unqualified to be paid with public funds. Stop this nonsense at once,” said Kumar Subramaniam.

Signatory Lim Poly said: “Please do not shame our nation more than is required. There are thousands more deserving and qualified candidates than Tajuddin.

“He will cause the good relationship between Malaysia and Indonesia to go down the drain!

“He has already damaged the country internally, and now he is given more power to damage it! Have mercy on the rakyat!” – May 19, 2022.
