THREE friends were charged with murder at the magistrates’ court in Kuala Lumpur today, after another man was found shot to death in a hotel in Bukit Bintang last week.

S. Katharavello, 52, T. Muniswaran, 49, and Mohd Zulbihar Ali Khan Kamaldin, 48, were charged with murdering S. Prabah, 49, between 6.05pm and 6.40pm at Hotel Capitol Kuala Lumpur on May 3.

The men were charged under section 302 of the penal code, read together with section 34, and face the death sentence if found guilty.

No plea was recorded as the case comes under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

The court set mention for submission of the chemist report on July 13.

Deputy public prosecutor Phulrani Kaur prosecuted, while all the accused were unrepresented.

Prabah was found dead with gunshot wounds to the forehead in the hotel room only an hour after he checked in on May 3.

His body was discovered by a hotel employee, who called police at about 7pm the same day. – Bernama, May 13, 2022.
