OIL giant Shell yesterday said it will stop operations of its petrol stations in Russia, as it withdraws from the country over the war in Ukraine.
“We can confirm the ongoing negotiations on the sale of Shell Neft, which owns a retail network and lubricants plant located in Torzhok,” said the company in a statement, as quoted by Anadolu Agency.
“Our key priority is the safety of our people and operations, as well as maintaining employment and compliance with Russian laws.”
Shell retail site and lubricant plant operations will be temporarily suspended in the coming days “to facilitate the sale of Shell Neft to a new owner”, said Shell Russia chief Sergey Starodubtsev. – Bernama, May 7, 2022.
