1,054 new Covid-19 cases, 3 deaths

MALAYSIA yesterday recorded a slight increase in new Covid-19 cases with 1,054 infections, compared to 922 cases on Tuesday. 

According to the CovidNow website, there have been 4.45 million infections since the start of the pandemic.

Selangor posted 547 infections yesterday, the highest by state or territory, followed by Kuala Lumpur (113), Penang (60), Negri Sembilan (59), Johor (50), Kedah (40), Perak (37), Sarawak (32), Sabah (23), Pahang (22), Putrajaya (21), Malacca (20), Terengganu (14), Kelantan (12), Perlis (2) and Labuan (2). 

The Health Ministry also reported three deaths yesterday, bringing the death toll to 35,567.

There were two reported deaths in Selangor and one in Perak.

There were 74 people in intensive care units (ICU) nationwide, of which 41 required respiratory support. – May 5, 2022.
