Water supply fully restored in Klang Valley areas, says Air Selangor

Water supply to 472 areas in the Klang Valley has been fully restored after an odour pollution issue was resolved at 8am today, says Air Selangor. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, May 4, 2022.

WATER supply in 472 areas in Petaling, Sepang, Hulu Langat, Putrajaya and Kuala Langat disrupted by the unscheduled cut due to the temporary shutdown of the Sg Semenyih Water Treatment Plant (LRA) and Bukit Tampoi LRA was fully restored at 8am today, Air Selangor said.

In a statement, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) corporate communications head Elina Baseri thanked consumers for their patience and cooperation throughout the duration of the unscheduled water disruption. 

She said consumers are advised to obtain official information on water supply disruption through Air Selangor’s official communication channels, such as its app, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages, and website.

“Any queries or complaints can be submitted at the Air Selangor Call Centre at 15300 or the Help Centre on the Air Selangor app,” she said.

Yesterday operations at the Sg Semenyih and Bukit Tampoi LRAs were temporarily halted due to odour pollution.

As a result, five localities – Petaling (172 areas), Hulu Langat (54), Sepang (196), Putrajaya (23) and Kuala Langat (27) – experienced unscheduled water supply disruptions starting at 3pm.

The last major water cut took place in December last year when 463 areas in the Klang Valley faced water cuts after odour pollution was detected in Sg Semenyih. – May 4, 2022.
