INDIVIDUALS who tested positive for Covid-19 can now be released from their isolation from the fourth day onwards should they test negative, Khairy Jamaluddin said today.

The health minister said that individuals could do a RTK-antigen test starting on the fourth day under the supervision of a registered medical practitioner.

“Individuals can be released from isolation starting on the fourth day if they are confirmed negative.

“If they are positive, they can test on day 4, 5 or 6 (to see if they test negative again).

“The test must be performed via self-test using RTK-antigen under the supervision of a medical practitioner registered with the Malaysian Medical Council.

“The tests can be performed physically or virtually,” Khairy said at a press conference in Putrajaya today.

The new protocol will take place on May 1.

Khairy said that the results must then be recorded into the eCovid system by the medical practitioners to ensure the information is integrated into the MySejahtera application.

He said individuals may obtain a release order in less than an hour after they test negative for Covid-19.

“This should be done in less than an hour after the test is completed (with a negative result) so that the individual can obtain a release order as soon as possible,” he added.
