THE Health Ministry need not wait for the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report on the development and procurement of the MySejahtera mobile application before it signs a new contract with any vendors, Khairy Jamaluddin said today.
“The Health Ministry’s decision to sign any contract is not subject to the PAC report.
“(Hope) to conclude the contract soon so that there can be certainty for all parties,” the health minister said in a press conference in Putrajaya today.
Last week, PAC chairman Wong Kah Woh said a report on the development and procurement of the MySejahtera app will be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat this July.
He said the PAC had urged Dewan Rakyat speaker Azhar Azizan Harun to allow the report to be debated by MPs for at least one day during the Parliament sitting.
Wong, who is Ipoh Timur MP, said the PAC will table the report in Dewan Rakyat within the first week after Parliament’s second meeting of the year, which begins July 18.
On April 14, the PAC had called on Khairy and Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz to provide their statements on the MySejahtera issue.
Last week, the PAC held its second proceedings on the issue involving three agencies under the Prime Minister’s Department, namely the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu), the National Security Council (MKN) and the National Cyber Security Agency (Nacsa).
The government is in the process of deciding the right price to pay MySejahtera developers on the subscription of services for the application.
Khairy in March hinted that the government will offer “far lower” than RM300 million for the app’s services. – April 27, 2022.
