AHMAD Samsuri Mokhtar is ready to be probed by police over the leaked minutes of meeting, which contain a plot to topple Umno and the need for “interference” to expedite the sentencing of court cases involving Umno leaders.

But the PAS vice-president said he has not received a call from police.

“As a law-abiding citizen, I, or anyone called by the authorities, will cooperate,” he told the media in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, today.

“But for now, I have not received any call from the authorities.”

He was responding to a statement by police yesterday, in which Kuala Lumpur police chief Azmi Abu Kassim said police will record statements from all those named in the documents.

Samsuri reiterated that the minutes are rubbish and has refused to entertain any accusation against him.

He said there is no need for him or his party to lodge a report on the matter.

“Anyone can lodge a report; that is their right. They can lodge a report over anything they want and police will do the necessary.

“I do not need to lodge a report over this rubbish report.”

On Umno urging him to take a “sumpah laknat”, he said there is no need for it.

“Those who are insisting on it clearly do not understand when I say that this report is rubbish. Therefore, there is no need for it.”

A “sumpah laknat” is a Muslim oath asking for divine retribution in the form of a curse against the lying party.

Titled Central PAS Political Engagement Report and marked as confidential, the documents have been circulating on the Internet.

The report contained minutes of meetings between Samsuri and PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan and leaders from Bersatu, Pejuang and Umno.

The meetings are said to have been held between late March and early April.

The PAS duo met with Bersatu’s Mohamed Azmin Ali and Hamzah Zainudin, and Umno’s Hishammuddin Hussein and Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad, according to the report.

Samsuri also met Pejuang chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad alone at the latter’s residence in Seri Kembangan.

The report contained information on two alleged camps in Umno and their views on when party polls should be held – before or after the 15th general election (GE15).

It also mentioned Umno’s plan to hold a special assembly to amend its constitution concerning party polls period, and to nominate Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob as Barisan Nasional’s prime ministerial candidate in GE15. – April 27, 2022.
