PERAK is not planning to enforce a ruling on bringing children to Ramadan bazaars in the state, says Menteri Besar Saarani Mohamad.
He said, however, parents and guardians are advised to continue to adhere to the standard operating procedure (SOP) set by the Health Ministry and the National Security Council to curb the Covid-19 outbreak, even though the country has entered the transition to endemicity.
He also reminded the people to be mindful as the Omicron variant of Covid-19 still poses a threat, in addition to Omicron’s new sub-variant, dubbed XE, that has emerged in foreign countries.
“We still have no such rulings (as enforced in Malacca)… but we are always reminding the people, especially parents, to be vigilant as many may have forgotten because they are eager to celebrate Raya (Aidilfitri),” he said in a media conference held after the Perak government’s Clients Day at Stadium Indera Mulia in Ipoh today.
The Malacca Housing, Local Government and Environment Committee chairman Zaidi Attan was reported as saying that the state would enforce a ruling on bringing children to Ramadan bazaars this week to ensure their safety and prevent them from Covid-19 infection. – Bernama, April 12, 2022.
