Jamaluddin Jarjis’ widow moves to amend RM1 billion asset suit

KALSOM Ismail, the widow of ex-minister Jamaluddin Mohd Jarjis, has filed an application to amend her suit against her mother-in-law and four children over matrimonial assets worth RM1 billion.

Her lawyer, Sulaiman Abdullah, said he will amend the statement of claim involving several assets, including real estate.

“The plaintiff’s application to get the court’s permission to amend the suit will be heard on May 17,” he told reporters today.

Lawyer Nur Hidayah A. Bakar, representing Jamaluddin’s mother, Aminah Abdullah, said the plaintiff filed the application on March 25.

She said the amendment will involve real estate in Boston, USA, which will be removed from the statement of claim.

“Rantai Wawasan Sdn Bhd shares, the issue of indirect contributions related to Jamaludin’s care when he suffered from leg pain, as well as land-related will be included in the amended statement of claim.”

Kalsom, 66, filed a matrimonial property claim including 20 properties in Malaysia, Makkah and the USA, and several companies in October 2018, and named her mother-in-law and children – Ikwan Hafiz, Nur Anis, Nurul Alyaa and Noor Adilla – as defendants.

Jamaluddin was killed in a helicopter crash near Kampung Sungai Pening in Semenyih, Selangor, at 4.55pm on April 4, 2015.

Pilot Clifford William Fournier, former prime minister Najib Razak’s private secretary Azlin Alias, Jamaluddin’s personal aide Razakan Seran, businessman Tan Huat Seang and a woman known as Aidana Baizieva were also killed. – Bernama, April 5, 2022.
