A LORRY attendant was killed when he was thrown out of the vehicle in a crash involving two trailers at Km250 on the North-South Expressway (northbound) this morning.
Seremban police chief Nanda Maarof said in the 7.40am accident, truck driver Muhamad Afzan Zakaria, 31, and attendant Mohamad Nur Imran Hamidun, 23, were travelling from Alor Gajah to Seremban.
“Afzan is believed to have lost control of the truck and rear-ended a rubber-laden trailer, which had broken down and was parked in the emergency lane.
“Due to the impact of the crash, the victim (Nur Imran) was thrown out and suffered severe injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical team.”
Afzan suffered minor injuries on the hands, while the 57-year-old trailer driver is unhurt, he added.
Nanda said the victim’s body was taken to Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital for post-mortem.
The case is being investigated under section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
It is learnt that the crash caused a 4km congestion that lasted for two hours. – Bernama, April 5, 2022.
