MALAYSIA logged 10,002 Covid-19 infections yesterday, a significant drop for the fourth straight day.

The new cases brought total number of infections in the country to 4.25 million.

GitHub portal data showed 98 of yesterday’s cases were imported. 

Selangor, the most populous state, logged 5,791 new infections while Negri Sembilan came in second with 586.

Other states and territories reporting new cases were Johor (489), Kuala Lumpur (481), Penang (414), Perak (403), Kedah (338), Sarawak (328), Pahang (306), Terengganu (238), Malacca (212), Kelantan (190), Sabah (140), Putrajaya (46), Perlis (20) and Labuan (20).

Daily virus fatalities stood at 28, seven of which were dead on arrival (DOA).

Deaths were reported in Selangor and Perak (6 each), Johor (5), Penang (4), Negri Sembilan (3), Pahang (2), Kedah and Sarawak (1 each).

The death toll reached 35,127, of which 7,415 were DOA. – April 5, 2022.
