THE Yang di-Pertuan Agong and his royal consort are currently undergoing quarantine after both tested positive for Covid-19, Istana Negara said today.
In a statement, Comptroller of the Royal Household Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said the Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah will be quarantined at the palace until April 7-8 respectively.
“It is to inform that both His Majesty and the Queen are only suffering from mild symptoms.
“Both His Majesty and the Queen’s health is generally in good condition and not worrying.
“The people are called upon to pray for His Majesty and the Queen to be granted immediate recovery and long-lasting health,” the statement read.
Malaysia reported 17,476 new infections yesterday, with its borders open to international travellers for the first time after almost two years of closure due to Covid-19.
In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, His Majesty called on the people to remain vigilant and practice self-control, even though the country has entered a phase of transition to being Covid-19 endemic. – April 2, 2022.
