20,923 new Covid cases, 34 deaths

MALAYSIA recorded a decline in Covid-19 infections to 20,923, compared with 21,839 the day before, the Health Ministry reported.  

The CovidNow website showed that the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases now stood at 4.1 million.

Selangor posted the highest number of daily infections yesterday with 10,790, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,855) and Negri Sembilan (1,304).

Other states and territories that reported infections were Johor (726), Kedah (785), Kelantan (298), Malacca (488), Pahang (634), Perak (1,185), Perlis (97), Penang (1,145), Sabah (269), Sarawak (960), Terengganu (245), Labuan (47) and Putrajaya (95).

Covid-19 deaths also declined to 34 compared with 52 the previous day, bringing the death toll to 34,751. 

Johor and Kedah recorded the most deaths at six deaths each, followed by Selangor (5), Perak (3), Penang (2), Pahang (2), Sarawak (2), Sabah (2), Terengganu (2), Negri Sembilan (2), Malacca (1) and Kelantan (1).

Meanwhile, active cases total 242,487. – March 27, 2022.
