New Covid cases dip to 21,839

MALAYSIA saw new Covid-19 cases dipping to 21,839 cases yesterday, compared with 24,316 the day before. 

The CovidNow website showed the total number of coronavirus cases stood at 4,101,081. 

Selangor posted the highest number of daily infections yesterday with 10,842, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,586) and Penang (1,277).

Johor reported 1,235 new cases, Sarawak (980), Kedah (845), Negri Sembilan (1,134), Kelantan (378), Pahang (608), Perak (1,201), Sabah (372), Terengganu (438), Malacca (686), Labuan (80), Perlis (47), and Putrajaya (130).

Virus-linked deaths also decreased slightly, to 52 compared to 64 the previous day, taking the death toll to 34,717. 

Selangor recorded the most deaths with 11, followed by Johor (8), Kedah (8), Pahang (6), Perak (6), Penang (4), Kelantan (2), Sabah (2), Negri Sembilan (1), Perlis (1), Malacca (1), Sarawak (1) and Terengganu (1).

Active cases numbered 269,389, of which 5,710 were in hospital. Among the latter, 291 were in intensive care, 188 of them on respiratory support. – March 26, 2022.
