Outgoing secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and outgoing chairman Tan Kok Wai made it into the CEC after winning 1,311 and 1,263 votes respectively.

Former CEC members who were retained include Nga Kor Ming, M Kulasegaran, Lim Lip Eng and Ng Suee Lim.

The election is for a three-year term from 2022-2025 and was held at the IDCC Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam.

A total of 4,149 delegates attended the one-day national congress and voted in the CEC, which will lead the party going into the 15th general election (GE15).

Unlike other parties, the elected CEC members will decide the term’s office bearers among themselves.

At the last national congress, the party’s constitution was amended to set aside a 30% quota for women in the CEC, which means there will be at least nine women in the new committee. – March 20, 2022.
