THE Malacca government has added ecotourism to its list to boost the industry in the state after family, heritage, culinary and shopping, said the tourism, heritage, and culture committee chairman Muhammad Jailani Khamis.
He said this was due to the many unexplored natural treasures in the state that nature lovers could enjoy.
He added that the focus would be on the glamping, or glamorous camping, concept which is currently in fashion.
“Glamping will not adversely affect the ecosystem and ecology of a place, thus ensuring nature lovers enjoy their stay,” he told reporters at the Tanjung Tuan recreational forest in Alor Gajah today.
Jailani said, so far, two locations have been earmarked for the glamping concept: Pulau Besar and Pulau Nangka. – Bernama, March 12, 2022.
