30,246 new Covid-19 cases, 113 deaths

MALAYSIA yesterday again breached the 30,000 mark for new Covid-19 infections, this time by 246 cases, the Health Ministry said today.

The CovidNow website showed 3.71 million people in the country had now been infected while active cases stood at 310,161. 

Selangor posted the highest number of infections yesterday with 6,606, followed by Kedah (3,179), Johor (2,986), Kuala Lumpur (2,856), Penang (2,462), Negri Sembilan (1,798), Sarawak (1,727), Kelantan (1,691), Pahang (1,529), Perak (1,442), Sabah (1,352), Terengganu (1,283), Malacca (725), Labuan (246), Perlis (224), and Putrajaya (140).

The website showed 113 daily virus deaths, 41 of which were classified dead on arrival. 

The new deaths brought the coronavirus toll in Malaysia to 33,497, of which 7,061 were DOA.

The deaths were reported in Selangor (22) followed by Sabah (18), Johor (14), Penang (10), Pahang (9), Perak (7), Negri Sembilan (6), Terengganu (4), Kelantan (3), Malacca (2), Perlis (2), Sarawak (2), and Kuala Lumpur (2). – March 10, 2022.
