PAKATAN Harapan (PH) has promised in its Johor elections manifesto to undertake a redelineation exercise and give equal constituency funds to all assemblymen if it wins the state.

Above that, PH said it would work with Putrajaya to decentralise certain services so that the state government has more authority in the health, education and public transport sectors.

The redelineation exercise and equal constituency funds are also promised by Barisan Nasional (BN) in its manifesto.

And like the BN manifesto, which was launched on March 1, PH promises to enact an anti-party hopping law in the state and work towards increasing the number of border crossings between Johor and Singapore.

But different from BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN), which launched its manifesto on Wednesday, PH did not include cash handouts for children from lower income families.

PH, however, promises to give tuition vouchers for students whose studies have been disrupted by the epidemic and lockdowns.

BN promised RM500 for each graduate from B40 households and RM1,000 as a marriage incentive while PN pledged to give free water to the lower income households and exempt small businesses from local council licensing fees.

PH said it would revive the Johor Health Card scheme and implement an affordable housing programme for Johor folk.

The launch, which was done in Batu Pahat, by Johor PH and Amanah chief Aminolhuda Hassan, PKR’s Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh and DAP’s Liew Chin Tong, also announced three core thrusts to rebuild Johor’s economy.

PH ruled the state after winning it in the last general election but was replaced by the Umno-led government following the Sheraton Move in February 2020.

The Johor polls will be held on March 12. – March 4, 2022.
