MUHYIDDIN Yassin has denied claims that he has been quiet in Johor elections campaigns compared with “arch-rival” Najib Razak.

“What do you mean I am quiet? Najib is talking nonsense. He is a convict. How can you trust him?” he said at the launch of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) manifesto today.

“I am not quiet, but you guys (reporters) are not reporting what I say.”

The PN election machinery is working hard, and it is an unfair portrayal of the pact, he added.

“And it is unfair to compare me with Najib.”

The PN chairman said the coalition is aiming to be the next government of Johor.

“We are contesting in 56 seats and hope to win as many as possible as we want to form the government.

“To accomplish that, we have to win more than 28 seats. That is why we focus on candidates.”

Johor will go to the polls on March 12, while early voting is on March 8.

Muhyiddin said his coalition will announce its menteri besar candidate when it is ready.

“We will announce a menteri besar as a state government must have one, but at the right time.”

Barisan Nasional is the only coalition that has announced its menteri besar candidate, Benut incumbent Hasni Mohammad.

Pakatan Harapan, too, has yet to announce its menteri besar candidate. – March 2, 2022.
