UKRAINE’S President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree early today allowing visa-free entry for foreign volunteer fighters, reported Anadolu Agency.

“From March 1, a visa-free entry regime has been introduced for foreigners wishing to temporarily join the International Legion of Territorial Defence of Ukraine for the period of martial law,” said the decree.

The decision does not apply to Russian citizens.

The legion is a volunteer foreign military unit created by the government at the request of the president to fight against Russian troops invading Ukraine.

On Sunday, Ukraine invited foreigners who are willing to defend the country to join the fight.

“Foreigners willing to defend Ukraine and world order as part of the International Legion of Territorial Defence of Ukraine, I invite you to contact foreign diplomatic missions of Ukraine in your respective countries,” tweeted Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. – Bernama, March 1, 2022.
