Tit-for-tat video emerges following clip on Pakatan leaders

HOURS after a video emerged depicting Pakatan Harapan as instigators, another video reacting to “Pakatan Hasutan” has begun circulating on chat groups.

Titled, “Barisan Hasutan”, the 160 second tit-for-tat video has also been posted on the Friends of Tun Mahathir Facebook page and employs reverse psychology to tell viewers to vote for the ruling Barisan Nasional.

It uses some of the footage from the earlier video against the opposition, but is dubbed over with a different script and dialogue aimed at highlighting discrepancies in BN’s narrative.

One of the scenes showed footage of a man reading a news report about Prime Minister Najib Razak receiving US$700 million (RM2.6 billion) in donations to his personal account.

A mystery man whose face is masked then whispers into the man’s ear, telling him to trust the prime minister as he is “trustworthy” (amanah).

Later, the video shows a news clip of Najib telling a crowd he would not have placed the money in his own account if he wanted to “rob” (menyamun).

It was followed by footage of the prime minister in an interview with news editors from government controlled media explaining the money was a personal donation and “that’s why the account was in my name”.

The scene then cuts to another man watching a news report about higher prices before the mystery man again whispers “goods and services tax (GST) is good for Malaysians”.

It is followed by news footage of Najib saying consumption tax is good for Malaysians and the country as a whole.

“GST is not a problem for Malaysians. GST is a saviour for Malaysians,” Najib is shown saying.

Before the end, a slide is shown saying words can be twisted and that persuasive arguments, lies, slander and threats will be used.

The video then tells the viewer: “Vote for Barisan Nasional. If you do, you’re stupid”, before ending with a slide saying voting for BN will destroy the country. – February 8, 2018.
