More than 246,800 children take first dose of Covid-19 vaccine


MORE than 246,800 children aged five to 11, or 7% of the group in Malaysia, have received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine as of yesterday, under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children.

Based on the CovidNow website, more than 13.4 million people, or 57.3% of the adult population in the country, have received their booster dose as of yesterday.

Over 22.9 million people, or 97.5% of adults, have completed their vaccination while more than 23.2 million people (98.7%) have received at least one dose of a vaccine.

As for adolescents aged 12 to 17, more than 2.7 million individuals, or 89.9%, have completed their vaccination while over 2.8 million individuals (92.5%) have received at least one dose of a vaccine.

Yesterday, 154,776 vaccine doses were dispensed.

This brings the cumulative total of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to more than 65.3 million. – Bernama, February 16, 2022.
