PEOPLE who have received two shots of the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine can now walk in for their booster shots of the same brand at any of the offsite vaccination centres (PPVs), starting February 14.

In a statement today, ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd said that those eligible for their booster doses and who wish to receive the Sinovac vaccine should refer to the list of offsite PPVs on its website.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said last week that all Sinovac vaccine recipients were now allowed to choose the same brand as their booster shot.

He said this was to address hesitancy over the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines.

Khairy said that there are some 3.5 million Sinovac vaccine recipients who have yet to get their booster shots. 

“However, the Health Ministry is still recommending Pfizer boosters for Sinovac recipients as it offers a higher level of protection,” ProtectHealth added in the statement. – February 12, 2022.
