TWENTY-FOUR Covid-19-related fatalities were recorded yesterday with nine classified as dead on arrival, the Health Ministry said.
The death toll now stands at 32,099.
The Health Ministry’s GitHub raw data repository showed that Kedah logged five deaths, Sabah and Johor (4 each), Perak and Pahang (3), Negri Sembilan (2), and Selangor, Terengganu and Perlis (1).

Meanwhile, the bulk of Covid-19 cases in the country came from the Klang Valley for the third day in a row, contributing 5,582 infections to yesterday’s total of 20,939 new cases.
The Github data showed Selangor topping the chart with 4,291 new cases, Kuala Lumpur 1,095, and Putrajaya 190.
Sabah reported the next highest number of cases at 3,361, followed by Johor with 2,860.
Other states that reported new infections were Kedah (1,623), Kelantan (1,589), Malacca (988), Negri Sembilan (1,235), Pahang (1,008), Perak (443), Perlis (127), Penang (1,490), Sarawak (214), Terengganu (293) and Labuan (132).

Active cases totalled 122,991, among which 111,323 (90.5%) were in home quarantine, 6,001 (4.9%) in quarantine centres and 5,512 (4.5%) in hospital.
A total of 155 people were treated in the intensive care unit, 80 of whom requiring ventilatory support.
Nationwide, the hospital utilisation rate stood at 65.9% with coronavirus patients accounting for 51.8%.
The number of new hospital admissions stood at 1,855 yesterday, according to the CovidNow website.
In the Klang Valley, Selangor logged 330 new hospitalisations, Kuala Lumpur 76, and Putrajaya 24.
Johor posted 334 new ward admissions, Kedah (67), Kelantan (103), Malacca (48), Negri Sembilan (241), Pahang (53), Perak (115), Perlis (15), Penang (71), Sabah (265), Sarawak (90), Terengganu (19) and Labuan (4). – February 12, 2022.
