ONE suspect was arrested last week in connection with Pastor Raymond Koh’s abduction, police said today, 100 days after the mysterious kidnapping.

The suspect was arrested in a northern state, Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said today.

The Christian preacher’s family yesterday hit out at the police for investigating Koh rather than looking for him since he was kidnapped on February 13.

Police had been investigating Koh after reports were lodged against him for proselytising to Muslims.

“We have to investigate. Not just the abduction but also the report that he was converting Muslims,” Khalid said.

Koh was abducted on February 13 in Petaling Jaya by a group of masked men.

Khalid said the public should not make wild accusations that the authorities and government have a hand in Koh’s disappearance without any evidence.

“Do not make such accusations without evidence. If you have any, come forward and give it to us.”

He was commenting on the three activists – Engage chairman Thomas Fann, Suaram’s Sevan Doraisamy and Bersih’s Rama Ramanathan – who have been called in for questioning.

Khalid said the trio are being investigated for intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.

“They accused the authorities and the government of having a hand in the case. That’s why we called them.”

The trio are expected to give their statement to police today. – May 24, 2017.
