A MAINTENANCE worker is believed to have fallen to his death at a shopping mall in Jalan Loke Yew, Kuala Lumpur (KL), today.

A KL Fire and Rescue Operations Centre spokesman said the 33-year-old victim, who was a maintenance worker for the building, was confirmed dead at the scene.

“Firefighters arrived at the scene and found an adult male victim on the ground floor (B2) in the lift shaft. Based on information, the victim is believed to have fallen from the 4th floor.”

He said firefighters used a basket stretcher and rope to remove the victim from the lift shaft hole, which is estimated to be 6ft-deep from the door of the B2 lift.

The victim’s remains have been handed over to police for further action. – Bernama, January 29, 2022.
