PAKATAN Harapan will limit the prime minister’s tenure to two terms if it captures Putrajaya in the 14th general election, said its chairman, Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

This is one of the changes PH will implement if it takes over Putrajaya, he said.
He said a prime minister may abuse his power if he holds the post too long.
Last month, the former prime minister said two terms are sufficient for the country’s prime minister to formulate and carry out his policies.
Dr Mahathir, who served for 22 years until his retirement in 2003, said the term limit is necessary to curb corruption.
“I was the longest-serving (PM), but now we cannot have anybody wanting to do better than me,” he said at Pakatan Harapan meeting. – February 6, 2018.
