MALAYSIA reported 5,522 fresh Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.
The number of cases today is the highest number of infections recorded this calendar year, overtaking yesterday’s 5,439 cases.
This is the fourth straight day the country has reported an increase in daily cases, taking the cumulative infections since the onset of the pandemic to 2.85 million.
The breakdown of cases will be updated on the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website after midnight.
Meanwhile, a total of 22.92 million or 97.9% of the adult population have completed their vaccination, while 23.2 million individuals or 99.1% of the group have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
For adolescents aged 12-17, a total of 2.79 million individuals or 88.5% have completed their vaccination, while 2.87 million individuals or 91.1% have received at least one dose of the vaccine. – January 28, 2022.
