Grateful for PR1MA loan repayment moratorium

PEOPLE who have purchased homes from PR1MA start paying their housing loans 24 months after after the project starts whether the unit is completed or not.

My family was among those who purchased a PR1MA house in 2019, just before Covid-19 hit Malaysia.

We took a loan from LPPSA and had to start repayments in November last year even though our house was only half completed.

The project was delayed due to pandemic and lockdowns.

This meant we would have to pay rent of RM350 the place we are living in now as well as the loan repayment for our PR1MA home which was not even ready yet.

Paying for two homes is just too much for my family and we were relieved when Housing and Local Government Minister Reezal Merican Naina announced a six-month moratorium on PR1MA loan repayments.

We are hoping our home will be completed by the time the deferment ends.

It was lucky the minister stepped in to assist us otherwise we would have surely gone deeper into debt.

My family would like to thank Reezal and the government for considering our plight. – January 28, 2022.
