PERAK police are ready to for the Bukit Aman integrity and standards compliance department to investigate alleged misconduct of the Manjung police chief.

Perak police chief Faridalathrash Wahid said the investigation was necessary to verify the allegations posted on social media yesterday.

“I cannot confirm (the allegations). Maybe his actions to wipe out gambling have been effective (and) that is why people don’t like it. If there are allegations, then I am leaving it to Bukit Aman to investigate.

“What I can confirm is that the Manjung police chief has taken strict action against vice, such as gambling, prostitution, triad activities and bitcoin.

“It is difficult to trace the source of the allegations, so this must be investigated properly,” he said in Padang Rengas today.

In a tweet yesterday, Manjung police chief Noor Omar Sappi was accused of involvement in an illegal gambling ring. – Bernama, January 21, 2022.
