Malaysia reports 12 new Covid deaths

MALAYSIA yesterday reported 12 Covid-19 deaths, the same number as on the day before, the Health Ministry said.

Two were dead on arrival (DOA).

This brought the virus death toll to 31,762, among which were 6,409 DOA cases.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

The ministry’s GitHub raw data repository showed Selangor topped the list of fatalities with four deaths.

Penang, Pahang and Terengganu logged two deaths each and Johor and Kedah, one each.

The active caseload stood at 40,558 including 204 in intensive care, 95 of whom required respiratory assistance.

There were 3,052 reported recoveries. – January 15, 2022.
