THE investigation into PKR Youth and Muda leaders, who protested against Azam Baki in front of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters, is uncalled for, said the opposition leader.

Anwar Ibrahim also questioned the rationale behind the investigation into Kulai MP Teo Nie Ching’s social media post, which she shared five years ago.

“Simpang Renggam MP Maszlee Malik also has been called in for questioning, as he was present during the handing over of the memorandum to an anti-graft agency representative.

“This move is a form of intimidation and pressure against the opposition by the authorities, in addressing corruption in the country,” he said on Facebook today.

The Port Dickson MP urged Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani to stop harassing the opposition.

On Monday, PKR Youth members submitted a memorandum urging the MACC chief commissioner to step down and for an independent investigation into his shares purchases.

Maszlee earlier today confirmed that he has been summoned for questioning by police in connection with the memorandum submission.

He will be present at the police headquarters in Putrajaya at 10am tomorrow.

Teo yesterday said police contacted her on January 8, saying they are investigating her over a Facebook post shared five years ago. – January 13, 2022.
