THE number of Covid-19 cases rose for the third straight day as Malaysia reported 3,684 new infections as of noon today, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
The country has been reporting a steady increase in daily cases since Tuesday, when 3,175 were reported.
The director-general of health said 2.8 million infections have been reported since the onset of the pandemic.
The breakdown of cases will be updated in the ministry’s CovidNow website after midnight.
Meanwhile, some 97.8% of the adult population in the country, or 22.9 million people, have completed their Covid-19 vaccination as of yesterday.
As for the adolescent population, involving those ages 12 to 17, 90.8% or 2.86 million people have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 88% or 2.77 million from the group have completed the vaccination. – January 13, 2022.
