UMNO will hold its 2021 general assembly from March 16 to 19, said party secretary-general Ahmad Maslan.
He said the dates were set by the party’s supreme council at its meeting at party headquarters in Kuala Lumpur earlier this evening.
“The new dates for the general assembly will be on March 16-19, 2022,” Ahmad said in a statement today.
Last month, the party postponed the assembly, originally scheduled for January 13-15, due to the nationwide flooding.
The event will begin with Wanita, Youth and Puteri wing meetings, to be held in the presence of deputy president Mohamad Hasan.
The next day, the general assembly for Wanita, Youth and Puteri wing will take place.
On March 18, party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will give his policy speech and officially open the main event, which will continue through to the end of the following day.
“All 14 division delegates will be invited to attend the assembly, which will not be a hybrid event.
“All five delegates of each wing will also attend their respective general assemblies this time.
“However, the SOP will still be met in terms of physical distancing, face masks will be worn, and use of Mysejahtera, sanitiser etc,” Ahmad said. – January 12, 2022.
