Malaysia logs 18 new Covid deaths

MALAYSIA logged 18 coronavirus deaths yesterday, two of which were dead on arrival (DOA), the Health Ministry said.

All the deaths were backlog cases, the GitHub raw data repository showed.

The Covid-19 death toll reached 31,696, of which 6,392 were DOA. 

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported deaths on the day plus backlog cases just confirmed by health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

Johor reported the most fatalities at four, followed by Kedah (3), Pahang, Selangor, Terengganu and Kuala Lumpur (2 each), and Kelantan, Malacca and Perak (1 each)

No fatalities were reported in Negri Sembilan, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Putrajaya and Labuan. 

The Covid-19 death rate stood at 0.7% while the two-week average for deaths by infection was eight per million people. – January 11, 2022.
