HEALTH Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has denied allegations that he has not been vaccinated against Covid-19.

This follows an old screenshot of his vaccination status from the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme’s (PICK) website, which is now inactive following Malaysia’s high vaccination rate.

The screenshot, which shows his status as ‘Being Processed’ is circulating on social media and has earned the minister criticism and calls for an explanation.

Khairy today said he completed receiving two-doses of the CoronaVac (Sinovac) vaccine and received a booster shot in September 2021.

“I received the first dose of CoronaVac vaccine on March 18, 2021, and was the first individual in Malaysia to receive the Sinovac vaccine.

“In fact, the first dose was also broadcasted live on television, and I also showed my MySejahtera status after I received the vaccine. The second dose I received on April 8, 2021.

“I also received a booster dose injection of the Comirnaty vaccine produced by Pfizer last September before leaving for Himeji, Japan for the 72nd World Health Organisation Western Pacific Region Committee Meeting.

“I would like to take this opportunity to deny the information displayed in the viralled screenshot,” the health minister said in a statement today.

As for the screenshot, Khairy said that the PICK website was created in the early stages of the national vaccination programme to allow the public to review their status.

After the country’s vaccination rate for the adult population reached 90% in October 2021, the site was no longer updated, he added.

Khairy urged the public not be swayed by the actions of “irresponsible parties” to negate the country’s vaccination efforts. – January 6, 2022.
