2,842 new Covid-19 cases

THE Health Ministry reported 2,842 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, the second lowest figure in a fortnight.

The last time Malaysia logged fewer infections was yesterday when 2,680 cases were recorded.

Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 2,769,886 people have been infected since the onset of Covid-19.

The breakdown of cases according to states will be uploaded on the CovidNow website after midnight.

Noor Hisham said the infection rate nationwide was 0.99 as of yesterday, where a value of more than 1.0 means the infection is spreading. β€“ January 4, 2022.
